Award-winners like Sixpenny and Biota join The Gantry for a special winter menu (Sydney)

A beautifully curated menu has hit Sydney’s The Gantry for the remainder of this month, offering an extra special collaborative feast that includes chefs from heavy-hitting culinary powerhouses like Sixpenny and Biota Dining. It’s a rare opportunity to showcase dishes by so many award-winning chefs in one spot, presenting diners with an essential, affordable set that’s being pushed for both lunch and dinner sittings throughout July.

Five chefs have come together to bring to help The Gantry’s Joel Bickford bring this menu to life in the atmospheric restaurant, which sits right by the water in the lush lobby of Pier One Sydney Harbour. To be more specific, the impressive list includes Bickford himself, James Viles (Biota), Tory Rhoades-Brown (Hunter Valley’s acclaimed Muse Restaurant), Aaron Ward (2016 Electrolux Young Chef of the Year), and Hanna Leinonen (Sixpenny).

In terms of what to expect, the set menu is priced at $99pp (extra $65 for matching wines) and is five-courses of what sounds like the most quintessential winter feast going around Sydney this year. Rhoades-Brown will take care of the first course, a smoked Newcastle mackerel with green apple, sour cream, wasabi, dill and wood sorrel. Second course falls to Viles, who has provided a dish of potatoes with truffles, smoked corn and sheeps milk. Third course is all Ward – Murray cod served with celeriac, black olive and salt bush. Salivating yet? Bickford’s got some protein for the fourth course – pheasant with chestnut, white raisin and brassica. Then to finish it all off, Leinonen will present a fifth course of sea buckthorn with carrots and liquorice.

The “Friends of The Gantry” menu is available throughout July only and a portion of all profits will be donated to OzHarvest.
