Australian Financial Review serves up Top 500 Restaurants for 2016

The Australian Financial Review has served the country’s top 500 restaurants for 2016 as part of the Australia’s Top Restaurants Dining Program, presented by Qantas. From May 3-23, foodie fanatics and culinary crusaders across the nation can take part in close to 100 events and be immersed in a celebration of the finest dining.

The Australia’s Top Restaurant program directors and prominent food critics, Jill Dupleix and Terry Durack highlight the diversity of this year’s event with the addition of 113 passionate top 500 newcomers to the playing field, and the fusion of events, ranging from unique restaurant experiences like the Alice in Wonderland inspired fine dining degustation at Alchemy (Brisbane), to behind-the-scenes exclusives of, and conversations with the industry’s best.

The major feature of the program is the sensational collaboration between Chef Martin Benn from last year’s number one restaurant Sepia, and Chef Peter Gilmore from Quay, taking place on 16 May. “Attending any one of these events is to take part in the great adventure that is dining in Australia in 2016,” Durack said.

Voting for the top 100 restaurants is now up to you! So fill up a plate at your favourite eateries, and dish out a vote in the Peoples’ Award for Australia’s Top Restaurants now until April 22^nd. Plus, by voting you can win a chance to dine at one of the winning restaurants.
