Arnott’s to bring back the original Pizza Shapes in response to backlash

Earlier this year Arnott’s did something very, very bad and ill-advised, inexplicably announcing that they’ll be taking the “if it ain’t broke, break it” approach by changing the recipe for their Shapes range. This unsurprisingly led to frustration and outrage, being that one of the country’s most loved snacks had been completely flipped upside down with new seasoning, seemingly to improve the range’s health rating (which probably works by making you not wanting to eat them at all). Negative feedback forced the brand to backflip on a few flavours eventually – particularly the much-loved BBQ – but the majority of Shapes flavours stuck to the new recipe.

Perhaps most depressing was the substantial change to the range’s most popular polygonal expression – Pizza Shapes. Pizza Shapes have a special place in Australian snack history and the new recipe completely ruined the flavour. Thankfully, that doesn’t have to be the case anymore seeing as Arnott’s have listened to consumer demand and decided to reintroduce the classic Pizza Shapes we all know and love.

The Original Pizza Shapes should return to shelves across the country in the coming weeks. Now if they just bought back the Original Nacho Cheese all would be forgiven.
