A pop up gelato log cabin is coming to Fitzroy (Melbourne)

Straight outta Portland, U.S based Gelato Fiasco is set to impact the Australian market now that they have launched a range of slightly ridiculous flavours around the country. To celebrate their arrival, they are bringing a special treat to Melbourne’s Fitzroy next month, opening a pop up Gelato Fiasco Log Cabin in the hip Melbourne suburb from Friday 5th August where gelato fiends can pull up and dive into gelato that makes use of everything from bacon flavoured candies and brownie pieces to salted chocolate pretzels and Sriracha flake coated almonds, all served in black waffle cones.

The Log Cabin will be pumping out four flavours for $7 a pop, opening doors to hungry Melbornians from Thursdays to Sundays to fill afternoons and late nights with their trademark “extreme toppings”. By extreme toppings we’re talking Wake ‘N’ Bacon using pancake flavoured gelato, maple syrup, and bacon flavoured candies; The Big County Brownie, which is mint flavoured gelato with brownie pieces and a chocolate sauce; Maine Munchies, topping peanut butter gelato with salted chocolate pretzels; and The Log Cabin, a chocolate gelato which has been covered with whiskey syrup and sriracha flake coated almonds.

“We seek to hnour the truest traditions of Italy, using the best ingredients, and have defined our own approach based on our own lives lived in Maine. Because really, gelato shouldn’t be boring”, said Gelato Fiasco owners Josh Davis and Bruno Tropeano, who will both be on hand for the launch of the pop up to provide a bit of insight into their unique approach and gelato secrets.

For those that miss out over the six week pop up, the Gelato Fiasco range is also exclusively available across the country in 7-Eleven stores in 470ml pints for an RRP of $12 each.
