A hawker-style barbecue pop-up from a Michelin trained chef is popping up in Melbourne

After selling out its first pop-up earlier this year, Majestic Hawker has plans on returning to feed Melbourne locals from Thursday 17th to Saturday 19th August. Open for dinner for just three hours, from 7pm to 10pm, the hawker kitchen will be pushing out many of the same dishes which made the July iteration such a hit as well as some new ones, making for a true hawker-style feast that includes chicken wings, skewers and stingray cooked in banana leaf in a toasty warehouse with an open fire kitchen, share tables and good tunes.

Singaporean chef Alicia Cheong will be leading the pop-up kitchen to supply guests with hawker-style BBQ flavours, bringing her very valuable input after working at Michelin-starred Restaurant Andre (also ranked as #14 in World’s 50 Best Restaurants) for the last year.

The July pop-up was the first in what will hopefully be an on-going series of bringing the tastes from the streets of Singapore to Sydney; it sold out one week before opening. More tickets are now available for the second-round pop-up so make sure you grab them from the link below. Tickets include three-courses with the option to add-on drinks.
