A food truck chilli festival is coming to Prahran in June (Melbourne)

Next month, on June 4th, some of Melbourne’s most in-demand food trucks will be coming together to raise funds for the Prahran Mission by staging a big Chilli Festival in a vacant parking lot next door to Brunch hot spot Hobba. From 6pm to 10pm, the Melbourne Chilli Festival will be bringing together Dos Diablos, Billy Van Creamy, Little Mushroom Co., Soul Kitchen Pizza and Hobba, with all outlets to offer an exclusive chilli special on the night along with their popular regular menus.

There’s a waiver involved, which must be signed by all participants who enter the main event – a chilli eating competition – so you know that things are going to get quite steamy in that vacant lot. Those heading along can expect the likes of chilli ice-cream (from Billy Van Creamy of course), mouthwatering tacos (from Dos Diablos; pictured above), mushroom burgers with haloumi and ratatouille (from Little Mushrooms Co.), wood-fired pizza (from Soul Kitchen Pizza), and gourmet souvlakis (from a stall set by Hobba). Non-chilli, vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options will also be available.
