Fanta have released their own fashion line and it’s as strange as you’d expect

Fanta, as in the soft drink, have released a small and outrageously weird capsule of clothing and accessories described as “functional and fashion-forward”. It’s confusing, but somehow if strangely glorious brand activations were a competition (which is pretty much the case nowadays) then the famously bright orange beverage is looking like at a gold medal.

Dubbed “Fanta Pants”, the head-scratching collection is full of those expected bright orange hues illustrating vintage-inspired pants, a see-through jacket, and a bum bag. Designed in collaboration with Australian fashion business college The Fashion Institute, the capsule playfully borrows from 90s streetwear and takes the phrase (or TV show title) “orange is the new black” very, very seriously.

Perhaps strangest of all, even if it makes sense, is the functional side of the clothes. One of two different pairs of pants features Fanta lid poppers and has pockets designed for carrying can of the good stuff. And then you have the jacket, which has see-through pockets for cans plus straws so you can sip while you walk through the streets looking totes cool AF.

It seemed to work at the recent Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week so if you want to keep up with the cool kids head on over to Fanta’s Instagram where you can win the full collection.
