Review: Fratelli Fresh (Breakfast Menu) – Potts Point (Sydney)

Known for its pasta, the rapidly expanding Fratelli Fresh family is where restaurant and providore meet. My meals at Fratelli Fresh have always been punctuated by simple, good flavours and fresh ingredients, and that same food philosophy applies to the new breakfast offering, which recently been made available at Fratelli Fresh in Potts Point and Walsh Bay.

Conveniently located in the heart of Potts Point, Fratelli Fresh on Macleay Street is the latest brunch spot to hit the lively dining scene. The ricotta and blueberry pancakes with lemon curd, citrus syrup, and orange zest ($14) are homely and delicious. I’m a fan of the fluffy and thick pancakes, plus the citrus zing is a welcome variation to your typical maple syrup. We order this with a side of bacon to add a savoury element.

The baked eggs in sugo ($16) with Neapolitan sauce, basil, and grilled sourdough is a tasty number. Albeit slightly oily, the hearty baked eggs are perfectly balanced by the garlicky, crunchy sourdough. This also works well with a side of bacon because let’s face it, bacon makes everything better.
