Collaboration is king as Belle’s Hot Chicken and PappaRich deliver delicious Malay-American fusion to Sydney

Last week, the latest culinary collaboration hit Sydney, as fried chicken experts Belle’s Hot Chicken teamed up with renowned Malaysian chain PappaRich to create the “Ultimate Fried Chicken Sandwich”. And indeed, it’s a dish not to be missed by fans of the delicacy, as the unique Malaysian flavours blend in with Belle’s take on Southern American fried chicken.

It’s the sweet Hainan bread that ultimately makes the dish unique, combined with PappaRich’s take on a Big Mac Sauce (“Pappa Mac”) to accompany it. Really its the Malaysian slaw with coconut vinegar, however, that proves the biggest flavour; aside from the chicken of course, which is bursting with the fried goodness (with a kick) that Belle’s is known for.

Honestly, if you like fried chicken, this sandwich is as good as they come. And while the taste is familiar, it’s just different enough to be worthy of the trip – as well as the $13.90 price tag. But don’t worry, this is a massive sandwich that is sure to fill up even the hungriest diners.

And really what this dish proves is that more brands need to work together. McGlone was a self-confessed PappaRich fan, whose love of the Malaysian cuisine no doubt pushed this collaboration along. Here’s hoping others in Sydney follow suit and deliver us some more delectable treats.

The sandwich will only be available at PappaRich’s two inner city Sydney locations: Broadway and Liverpool St, until June 18th, with limited quantities available each day. For more details about the collaboration, and the locations, head to papparich.net.au or belleshotchicken.com.
